⚠️ Important Installation Steps

When you run the downloaded installer file, Windows might show a blue SmartScreen warning. Don't worry, this is normal for new software. Please follow these steps to install:

1. Double-click the downloaded PyCore_IDE_Setup_5.0.0.exe file.
2. If a blue "Windows protected your PC" screen appears, click on More info.
3. A new button will appear at the bottom. Click Run anyway.
4. Follow the standard installation steps (Next > Next > Install) to finish setup!

Why does the SmartScreen error appear?

PyCore IDE is fully certified and officially licensed on the Microsoft Store (which is why we recommend downloading it from there). However, this standalone Windows installer lacks a separate EV Code Signing Certificate.

Code Signing certificates are extremely expensive for independent/indie developers. Because this exact installer file doesn't have that expensive cryptographic signature, Windows SmartScreen flags it as "unrecognized" software by default. Rest assured, PyCore IDE is 100% safe, completely free, and runs entirely offline without tracking you.
